Our Services

Welcome!

I’m so glad you’re here. This space is dedicated to supporting families through fertility, pregnancy, home birth, and postpartum with personalized, holistic care. My role is simply to walk alongside you, offering guidance and support as you birth your way✨

  • Home birth care offers personalized support for you and your baby throughout pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period. Our care includes all prenatal visits, labor and birth support in your home, and postpartum care for both you and your baby through the first six weeks.

Prenatal appointments are about one hour each and provide time to check on you and your baby, talk through questions, prepare for birth, and build a trusting relationship together. Around 36 weeks, we’ll also do a home visit to help you prepare your birth space and review plans for when labor begins!

From 37 weeks on, I would be on call for your birth. When labor starts, we come to you and support you throughout the entire process in the comfort of your home. For additional safety and support, another licensed midwife or trained birth attendant will also be present at your birth.

After your baby arrives, care continues with postpartum visits for both you and your baby through the first six weeks as you recover, settle in, and begin life with your newborn.

  • Placenta encapsulation is a way to honor and utilize the placenta after birth while supporting your postpartum recovery. This service includes placenta encapsulation into easy-to-take capsules, along with the option to create a placenta tincture and beautiful placenta prints as a keepsake from your birth.

Your placenta is carefully handled and prepared using safe practices, then dehydrated and placed into capsules for postpartum use. Many families choose encapsulation as part of their healing and nourishment after birth.

A placenta tincture can also be made for long-term use, and placenta prints are created as a meaningful piece of artwork to remember this special time.

  • We offer early gender DNA testing through SneakPeek, a simple blood test that can determine your baby’s gender as early as 6 weeks into pregnancy!

This quick, in-office lab draw is done using a small blood sample from the mother’s arm. The sample is then sent to the SneakPeek lab for analysis, with results typically available within a few days.

Many families enjoy learning their baby’s gender early as part of their pregnancy journey, whether for personal preparation or sharing the news with loved ones.

To learn more about early gender testing, visit our Services page or fill out a Contact Form to schedule your lab appointment. ✨

  • Noninvasive Prenatal Testing (NIPT) is a safe, high-accuracy blood test, usually done from 10 weeks, that analyzes fetal cell-free DNA (cfDNA) in maternal blood to screen for common chromosomal conditions like Down syndrome (trisomy 21), Edwards syndrome (trisomy 18), and Patau syndrome (trisomy 13). It is a screening tool, not a diagnostic one.

Learn more about it on our services page!

  • Functional lab testing offers a deeper look at your health to support conception, fertility, pregnancy, and postpartum recovery. These labs help identify underlying imbalances in areas such as hormones, nutrient levels, thyroid function, gut health, and overall wellness.

Testing can be helpful for those preparing for pregnancy, experiencing fertility challenges, navigating pregnancy, or looking for more personalized support during the postpartum period. Results allow us to better understand what your body may need and guide individualized nutrition and lifestyle recommendations.

Functional labs may include blood work and other specialty testing depending on your goals and health history.

About Me

  • I can't even begin to express how grateful I am for having Alecia by my side during labor. From start to finish, she was an absolute rock, providing me with the support, guidance, and encouragement I needed to navigate one of the most intense experiences of my life.

Throughout the entire labor, she was there, offering hands-on support when I needed it and verbal reassurance when I was overwhelmed. She helped me stay calm and centered, always reminding me of my strength, and helped me communicate my needs with the medical team. It was like having someone in the room who truly understood what I was going through and knew exactly what to do to make me feel more comfortable.

One of the things that stood out the most was her ability to be present and attentive, but never overbearing. She made sure my partner was also involved and supported, which helped everyone feel at ease. Her knowledge of labor techniques was invaluable—whether it was providing counter-pressure during contractions, helping me switch positions, or guiding my breathing, she was on it every step of the way.

Thanks to Alecia, the entire experience was so much smoother than I ever anticipated. She made a potentially overwhelming process feel empowering and manageable. I truly don’t know how I would have done it without her! If you're considering hiring a doula, I can't recommend Alecia enough. She was absolutely essential in helping me have the birth experience I wanted.

Thank you, Alecia, for everything you did!

  • My husband and I hired Alecia as our doula late in my pregnancy - 34 weeks. We are so thankful we made the last minute decision to hire her! Leading up to birth, she was so warm, relatable, and knowledgeable. Her passion for birth work is evident from the moment you meet her. For the birth itself, she was supportive and very available throughout the entire process. Her support helped my husband and I feel empowered in our decision making and look back very positively on our birth experience, which we were unsure we could given my circumstances of having to be unexpectedly induced. Early on in the induction, she offered emotional support and medical expertise via phone/text that helped us achieve the gentle induction I desired. During active labor, in the thick of intense, high-dosage Pitocin contractions, she knew exactly how to guide my husband in supporting me and how to speak to me in a way that helped me to relax during and between contractions. My top priority for birth was healthy baby and healthy mom, but I also deeply desired a natural labor and delivery with no pain meds. While it was completely out of everyone's control that I couldn't go into labor on my own, I was able to achieve all my other goals for birth, and my husband and I owe much of that credit to Alecia's warm, calm, knowledgeable presence during labor. We will forever be grateful to her and Lake Country Birth for helping us bring our perfect, sweet son into the world. We would recommend Lake Country Birth without hesitation, and we are confident all of the doulas there make an excellent addition to any birth team.

  • I would recommend Alecia to anyone thinking of hiring a doula for their birth. Do not hesitate for a second. Alecia, took the time to have her first intro call with me while she was traveling on vacation. Right there speaks volume to her love and passion she has in the realm of birth work. She was kind, compassionate, down to earth and continued to keep pushing me to my goal of having a home birth when certain things were not aligning. She made me feel confident, supported, and I would not have had the experience I did with my
Home birth if it wasn’t for her. Thank you Alecia!

    -Maggie H.

  • Alecia was amazing! I have a very good eye for service and I have never seen someone so focused. My wife had an unusually long delivery that she would not have been able to manage without her guidance. She never lost focus once. She was supportive, knowledgeable and collaborated well with hospital staff. Any husbands on the fence about whether a doula is necessary…listen to these words: It’s not about what you want, it’s what your wife needs. Thank you for showing me what true caring looks like in action!

    -Matt W.

  • My experience with LCB, and specifically Alecia, was incredible. As a birth professional myself I came with a unique perspective in that I did not need childbirth education but knew the evidence that supported the role of doulas in reducing complications of birth and increasing satisfaction. I had a beautiful, doula supported natural birth with my first child and wanted to do everything I could to have a similar experience with my second.
From the beginning Alecia was accessible, supportive and open. She helped walk me through a few decisions I had to make with curiosity and thought provoking questions while never inserting her own values or opinions-that is quite a skill!! She stayed with me through a long, 22 hour labor offering near constant hands on support that helped me move through each labor wave. My goal was to have a "hospital home birth" and she helped me achieve exactly what I wanted. When my labor was approaching 20 hours and there was thought that the baby was malpositioned she helped guide my birth team and I through the decision to rupture membranes artificially which was not in my original preferences. This was exactly what needed to happen to get baby to rotate and move towards delivery. With her guidance I felt 100% in control of that decision and had time to weigh the risks vs benefits and discuss it with my husband. Just a short time later my baby was born in the (LED) candlelight, into my own hands from an upright position with our chosen song playing-when was the last time you saw that happen in a hospital?! (I have to include a huge acknowledgement to my doctor, Kelsey Koenig, MD w/ ProHealth Care who was also a key player and 100% supportive of /a strong advocate for my goals and preferences).

Overall, I can't imagine going through labor without Alecia. Postpartum she checked in frequently and offered support and a listening early through those challenging early newborn days. Despite her contract being "fulfilled" now almost 4 weeks postpartum, we continue to stay in touch and she will forever have a place in my heart. My only hope is that every woman has the opportunity to be supported in labor as I was. It is 100% worth the investment. There is no baby shower gift worth what a doula can do for you so skip the expensive stroller and ask for a doula instead!

    -Kristen F.

  • I had the most beautiful home birth because of the support of my husband and Alecia. She helped me through the hardest parts and we made such a great team. I cannot say enough good things about her! She’s amazing, thank you so much again.
